Trial question

Hi,

When I try the demo for delphi the app starts running immediately. I expected to enter a key first.

If not, whats the purpose of the key with trials?

Pls advise,Thanks

Honestly, the best place to start is here: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/getting-started/

And since you're using Delphi, that will lead you here: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/using-turboactivate-with-delphi/

Which will tell you exactly what the example app is showing: a hybrid trial / full version app (see the beginning of the step-by-step walk-through for a full explanation of what that means). Of course, TurboActivate is flexible. If you want to disallow trials, then you can do that.

Whatever fits your business needs, TurboActivate & LimeLM can do.

Let me know if you have any other questions and we'll be glad to help.

Thank you. I read the getting started pages several times.

But some things are still hard to figure out. E.g.

Can we make trial installations which require a key? Or do they start from the date of installation in any case?

When I define a product with xx days of trial time. What is the purpose of the generated key if trial starts after installation without a key? Is it to activate the product to full version?

(Documentation is good. But would be helpful to mention (e.g. in hybrid licenses) that some features of the demo e.g. delphi can be seen when trial expires at earliest. Means you cant evaluate the given demo within 1 day.)

>> "Can we make trial installations which require a key? Or do they start from the date of installation in any case?"

Yep, you can use product keys with a date/time custom license field (like trial_expires): https://wyday.com/limelm/help/license-features/

Remove the verified trial functionality and just use product keys if you want to *require* product keys.
