Offline floating license

Questions are regarding TurboFloat:

1) Will the user need to be connected to the network the entire time the app (or software) is being used?2) Can the user request license lease from the pool when the app (or software) is opened, and allow the license to be active for 24-hours? That way the user can continue to use the app (or software) online or offline, but after 24-hours, the app (or software) cannot be used further, and the license lease returns to the pool automatically, either online or offline.

>> "1) Will the user need to be connected to the network the entire time the app (or software) is being used?"

No, but they will need to be connected some of the time. When a customer is using TurboFloat, and they start your app, when your app starts the first thing it does is call TF_ReuqestLease(), which, as the name implies, requests a lease from the TurboFloat Server. Yes. Your customer would need to set the lease length to 24 hours: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/turbofloat-server/#config-lease

Thanks for your response.

Question 3) Can the "license lease" be requested from the "license pool" (server), but stored to a USB drive? Then the USB drive can be used as a "transportation" means to float the license without network connectivity?

No, license leases are more ephemeral. They're for running processes. Once the process dies, the license lease disappears.

Floating licenses and hardware-locked licensing each have their trade-offs, here's a good overview: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/licensing-types/
