Thanks Wyatt, I had forgotten about the API. I may be able to use that a proxy.
A customer reports that on uninstall / reinstall they cannot access our software due to a licence error. They have tracked this down to ‘The Great Firewall’ as if they use a VPN they can bypass it.
However, usage of a VPN is problematic for them (sometimes it does not work and in all cases it is not well looked upon by the government).
I'm still troubleshooting with them and would like to be able to whitelist the wyday.com IP (I'm trying to track down the ministry who manages this).
Are there any known issues with connections from China recently?
I appreciate that correct answer is to use to the floating licence, this would be quite a rework for us (a very old Fortran compiler) and would multiply our monthly costs by 5 times.
There's currently no problem at scale accessing our servers from mainland China.
Might there be a local problem ("ISP" level, etc.)? Maybe. We don't have any staff (support or otherwise) in mainland China, so we couldn't answer that.
Solutions?
