CPU and GPU changed, and Deactivate no longer availableAnswered

We have a customer that upgraded the CPU and GPU in his PC and his license is no longer recognized.

Deactivate is not available, and Reactiavte will not work, as it says 'Maximum number of activations reached'.

Is this expected?

Do we need to Deactivate for the customer?

Answer

GPU doesn’t matter, but a new CPU and motherboard (even if it’s in the same old case) is a new computer.

So, yes, you’ll need to deactivate them so they can activate on the new computer.

Ok - so they should have really 'Deactivated' first... then changed the CPU?
