Source code on the forum?Answered

Hello Wyatt, the FORUM was changed some time ago in order to avoid SPAM among many other things.

I remember some titles that the source code would be released, if I remember correctly. This is so?

I know that a first version was released but then it needed to be improved before it was released and we could use it on our website.

I don't know how this state of the project has turned out as well.

Our forum software is made in-house. It's called Just the Forum (JTF) and it will be released eventually. Both as an open-source variant and as a hosted product. We talked about why we made yet another forum on our blog.

The front-end (things every “regular user” sees) is in a very good place. It's fast, usable, looks-good, and is keyboard and screen-reader accessible. We made quite a bit of progress here in 2023.

The back-end is a bit rougher. The spam handling is very good (but can be improved – have less false positives, and ban-hammer of obvious spammers).

And there are about 3 large features we want to tackle before we release it as a product/project.

So, yes, it is coming. And it's one of the things we dogfood. But it's not yet at the release stage.
