Hey Alexis,
You can only delete product keys in paying plans. The free plan doesn't allow it.
Hi,
On my Dashboard, when going to "Show all product keys", and then "Delete the product key", I get a "The product key you're looking for wasn't found. Either it never existed or you don't have access to it.".
I assume this is normal since the plans goes with activations total maximum. But does it means any generated key is generated for ever ? If we know a key will not be easy by a client, has been deactivated form him, his there a way to resign it by API ?
So, my question goes the same for the deletion of a key from the API.
Regards,Alexis.

Hey Sam,
Thanks for the answer.Wonderful and quick, as usual.
Regards,Alexis.
It would be helpful if LimeLM gave an appropriate error message here. I've just wasted half an hour trying to work out why I was getting "The product key you're looking for wasn't found. Either it never existed or you don't have access to it."
Yes, we don't allow free plans to delete keys. We thought hiding the "Delete key" link would be enough. But a number have people have been confused about this so we'll re-add the delete link but show a "You can't delete keys on the free plan" error message.
Thanks for the clarification, Wyatt. But I'm perplexed why you would put this restriction on the free plan. It's limited by activations, not by key count right? So free user ends up with a cluttered UI that doesn't help persuade him to start paying. Personally, I can live with zombie keys I used for testing... when I get 10 paid activations I'll start paying wyDay and can then delete the zombies.
On a completely separate note, it would be nice if you supplied IsGenuine() test with a 90-day timer so that we don't have to roll that functionality ourselves. I would like to call an IsGenuineEveryDays(90) and not have to read up on the Windows Registry, Windows Date APIs, subtracting date/times, etc. Thanks for an awsome (so far) product.

It interests me too. Actually, I will have a lot of activations, but those will only last 1 - 7 days (my users needs to renew /rebuy my program every 7 days max). So, if you put limit on total activations, it will really be not very good for me 🙂

That's great. I blew most of my free account activations doing shopping cart testing with fastspring. I wasn't planning on purchasing a full account until launch day.

My apology. Needed to do some more searching before posting here... Found what I was looking for: "the total activation count is reduced when a key is deleted". Original post can be found here: https://wyday.com/forum/t/1378/paypal-sandbox-testing-with-free-plan-10-activations/#post-7184
Thanks anyway 😉

That's correct.

It's limited by activations, yes, but we also don't allow you to delete keys on the free plan. We put it in place to prevent a particular type of fraud that kept happening over and over again.

Superb news: when is 3.3 likely to be released?
We're working to get it out soon.
