wyUpdate freezes (it's not -- waits for files to close)Solved

I've been using wyUpdate for about a year and it works great.

However, on the 385 machines I'm currently using it on, sometimes the wyUpdate.exe instance remains loaded and doesn't finish. No update is being done, my application continues running (thankfully) but it prevents me from updating.

Is there a way to collect logs to determine where wyUpdate hangs? Because the weird thing is, when I kill the process and either manually or programatically restart the update process, everything goes fine.

I have a memory dump of a frozen process for you if you want.

Thanks!

Enable the UI (don't run from a service). What you're seeing as a "freeze" is actually wyUpdate waiting for processes or files to no longer be in-use.

If you're running without a UI make sure you use the /fromservice switch or else you will get cases like this (looks like a freeze -- isn't).
