Hey Steve,
Anyone try wyUpdate to use as initial deployment of a C# application to avoid using an installer completely?
We're planning something like this in the future (for web-deploys). In the meantime we recommend using NSIS.
Hey!Anyone try wyUpdate to use as initial deployment of a C# application to avoid using an installer completely?
would be cool if the update screens wording would detect a first run and change and the wording to be more about Installing then updating.or when you click "Build wyUpdates" it could maybe make an initial installer.exe to use to post on your website for users to download that would have all the proper wording in that for first run
Also, there doesn't seem a way to put files in the Program Files Folder/Your App.I can put them in the Common FIles folder but not where you'd want to install an app normal and it would be cool to be able to do this.I know it;s designed to work after an initial install but just thinking out of the box here.......hehehe
Seems like all the tools are there to do this already minus a few tweeks. It would be nice for us developers to use one tool to do both jobs and would add extra value to wyBuild...... 😀
Anyway, just an idea!
Steve
