wyUpdate crashes on new Windows 10 April 2018 update (it doesn't)

We have noticed clients reporting crashing updates recently.

It seems to be limited to those who have the latest Windows 10 version (April 2018 update).

Our suspicion is that it has something to do with the .NET libraries wyUpdate uses, as we see the error: Missing NET.Lib.

These clients do have the latest .NET client 4.7.1 installed, though. Is this not compatible with the old wyUpdate dll and exe?

wyUpdate works fine on the latest version of Windows. This customer likely uninstalled .NET Framework 2.0 (3.x) on their machine.

If you want to work "out of the box" on Windows 10, use the .NET 4.0 version of wyUpdate (already included in wyBuild).

I checked - these customers don't have .NET 2 or 3.5 installed.

Looking at the full version number of .NET 4.7.1 in their registries it shows:version 4.0.30319.42000
