TurboActivate wizard shows error code 28Answered

We use TubroActivate/TurboFloat component for licensing our Outlook add-in for years. In most cases it works fine and most issues are covered in your documentation. But during last month we have two similar support request related to subject. Users are unable to activate software using TurboActivate wizard. In one case it instructs user to enable all network adapters, in other case it just reports error code 28. In both cases we try to follow instructions from your documentation. And it doesn't help (it helped many times before for other users but not in these 2 cases). Do you have any diagnostic tools/recommendations for such hard cases? Both clients are important to us because they want to buy not single license but cover all computers in they network.

Hey Oleg,

More information is needed. Version you're using (if the TurboActivate Wizard is showing an error code instead of an actual error then you're likely using an old version), OS the customer is on, version of OS they're on, etc., etc.:

Hi, I have the same issue.
at first the client has a message that involved enabling the network adapters and now it's changed to this.

We installed the latest version of turbo activate and also ran turboactivate in admin mode. nothing work.

this is the error:
A problem occured when XYZ tried to activate. Error code 28.
Contact your system or techinical support department for assistance.

Please provide all the information requested in the faq. My guess, you’re using A very old version of TA.

Use the latest version.

Provide more Information.

this is what I wrote in the first post:

"We installed the latest version of turbo activate and also ran turboactivate in admin mode"

You’re not, though. I know you’re using a version that’s likely 5 years old. How do I know this? Because (a) you’re seeing that error, and (b) you’re seeing it rendered like that.

So, follow the FAQ. Step 1 is upgrade your TurboActivate.

Edit: Just downloaded the software from your website. You're using x86 and x64 builds. And both are using old versions. And, even worse, they're using 2 different versions for the 2 architectures. Don't do that. Upgrade the x64 and x86 builds to 4.3.3.0.

We link to the FAQ not to blow you off, but to not waste your time and not waste our time.
