InstantUpdate 1.0 (Final!) will be out In about a week. September 2nd at the latest, I promise.

I'm sorry it's been taking so long.

Hello, when we can expect the next release with your corrections (according reported bugs to 1.0 RC2)? Thanks, Rene

I said September 2nd, but I lied again. It will be a little longer. There's a bug in the new silent "report back" API in the Client that needs to be fixed before I release 1.0 final.

I'm sorry for the repeated delays. I'm terrible at predicting how long it takes me to do things.

I'll let you know here the second I upload it. Also, once 1.0 is out there will be a quicker release cycle.

OK, I'm watching your RSS news with Final release

Hi 🙂Any news about the 1.0 Final?

Hi 🙂Any news about the 1.0 Final?

I'm in a code freeze right now and have begun fixing all remaining visible bugs. I really want to release 1.0 Final around Sunday Sept. 21.

This is assuming no show-stopper bugs rear their ugly heads.

P.S. Perhaps my feature list for 1.0 Final was too ambitious. In the future I'll make sure the releases are shorter and thus more manageable. This way I'll be able to respond to bug reports more quickly.

A few problems have crept up in the silent Client API, and I'm going to use the next week to polish them up. I also have a bit of testing to do on legacy versions of Windows (i.e. Windows 98 & Windows 2000).

The good news is this is all the work I have to do before 1.0 Final.

Quick status update:

1.0 Final is coming slowly but surely. There's a minor bug in 1.0 RC2 (go figure!) that prevents reading the newer server files generated in 1.0 Final.

Tomorrow and Friday night I'll figure out a workaround. The finish line is inches away.

Thank you.

Ever since you gave me a taste of this application, I have wanted it badly. 😉
