Error (13) but activated

Hello,When I attempt to activate a product key inside a VirtualBox VM, I receive the following error:

Error activating product key: (13): The activation has expired or the system time has been tampered with. Ensure your time, timezone, and date settings are correct.

However, in the wyDay web interface, I can the key has been activated. I don't understand why I'm not able to activate on the client, because the VM's date is current. I also don't understand why the wyDay UI would report the key as activated when the client reports not activated.

Thank you in advance for any clarification or help.

* Operating system is Centos 7* License is not expired* License allows hypervisor/vm activations* Using TurboActivate 4* System time in VM is up to date* System time on host is up to date

VMs restored from a "saved state" will not properly report the date/time, and thus TurboActivate will detect fraud (because the VM is not behaving like a "normal" machine should behave). The solution:

Make sure the following are correct:

1. You're using the latest version of TurboActivate.2. The Timezone is correct (very important).3. The Date and time are also correct.

Then, restart the machine. Try it again and it should work.

Thank you for the reply. I restarted a few more times and it worked.

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by the timezone being correct? Is there a correct timezone?

Well, the correct timezone is the timezone the machine is in. It just can't be set to whatever random timezone and then set the local time to your timezone.

Ah, thanks for clarifying.

Out of curiousity, was it expected that even though activation appeared to fail from the client, the activation was still recorded on the wyDay servers?

Or, could this indicate some other problem?

Nope that's expected behavior. It's assumed the customer will eventually fix their computer's date/time/timezone settings and try again.
