Get more information about TurboFloat usersAnswered

Hello,

We have product which actively use both TurboActivate and TurboFloat libraries (different editions for different licensing schemes). In case of TA-based edition we send some additional data about user into TA_Activate call and it works fine because we able to see these data on LimeLM web dashboard.

But AFAIU we unable to do same thing for TurboFloat users. Ideally we want to provide some additional data for each active lease and see these data on LimeLM web dashboard. So we want to see list of active leases for each TF license with additional info. Is it possible? If not do you have any ideas how we can implement it using existing TF API?

We have a TurboFloat Server manage (API and management interface) that you'll be able to use for your customers to view extra data about license leases.

This is coming later this year (no hard date yet).

Is this still coming this year?

If not before Christmas, then early January 2018. But yes, we're close. No hard date.

Hi Wyatt, interesting! I have a similar question: a customer asked us something to get some reports about the activity of the license server (in particular who is connected at a precise time). Has the upcoming TurboFloat Server manager this on board (or do we have to develop something with its API)?

Thanks in advance,

Alessandro

Hey Wyatt,Is there a hard date for the release of the TurboFloat Server manager?

Thx

No hard date. We're working to get it out ASAP.

Is there any update on this?

No update. It'll be out ASAP.

Is this in 4.1? I could not see any mention in changelog.

No, it'll be a separate release. This was mentioned recently in another post: https://wyday.com/forum/t/4451/broken-link-tfs-manager-page/#post-20869

It's a whole new product with a new API that's part of your LimeLM subscription. It's "done", but it needs more hardening, the examples need simplification, and the code needs more optimization.

There will be a separate blog post announcing it when it's released.

Our customers are asking us for this functionality as well. Given that it's been almost 3 years since the last update, is this product still on the roadmap?

Answer

Hosted TurboFloat Server instances are coming first. These will have an integrated dashboard right in LicenseChest that will give users a real-time view of the server.

Eventually the TFSM (TurboFloat Server Manager) API will be released. It’s been moved down in priority.

LicenseChest will be out Q1 2022.
