version 4.0.2 -- Linux, enable network adaptersSolved

With 4.0.2 on linux I get: "Activation failed - The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is disabled."

Sorry, we should clarify that error for Linux, we'll fix that in the next version. What the error should be is "Enable network adapters".

On Linux you need to have 1 or more network adapters named "eth[X]" or "wlan[X]" (for example, "eth0"). There doesn't need to be an active internet connection on the adapter. It just needs to be setup.

As a lot of modern Linux distributions are using systemd and by that "Predictable Network Interface Names" the default naming scheme is not using "eth[X]" or "wlan[X]".I can for sure change that on my side, e.g. with net.ifnames=0, but actually don't want to pass that on to our customers. Is there no better way to handle that automatically?

You're absolutely right, we'll work on a fix, test it, and we can have a beta to you by next week. Just shoot me an email at wyatt@wyday.com and I'll pass along the beta when it's done.

4.0.3 is now out and correctly handles the new predictable network interface names.
