limelm.com IP address change

Hey Wyatt and Company,

Thanks for the blog post about the DDoS. Sorry that you are having a lame Friday! We've had about 10 customers contact us with issues, but flushing DNS seems to be working unless they are in Europe (DNS is just taking awhile to propagate, maybe?).

Our question is about LimeLM.com, which doesn't seem to be working. Have you guys addressed issues there as well? It's not really hurting us in any way, we just wanted to be sure that you knew about the issue.

Yes, well configured DNS servers will update within 10 to 15 minutes. Crappier ones will take a few hours. And the worst might take up to 24 hours. You can tell them to switch their DNS servers locally to use the Google DNS (which are very fast and actually update at a reasonable speed)

We had to make the DNS change on the fly, unfortunately. Normally we'd be able to roll out these changes more gracefully.

Sorry, yes, the redirects from all of our 30 or 40 domain names will be fixed next week. It's a hassle but we can no longer directly link to an IP address, so we have to spin up another server to handle redirects (and if it gets DDoSed nothing important will happen).
