Turbo Float clientsAnswered

Dear all,

I have a question on Turbo Float server, lets say it manages a pool of 5 licenses. When I have 10 clients, all (cloned) virtual machines that share the same IP address (NAT?), would it be possible to make use at the same time of these 5 licenses? If each license lease request appears to come from the same pc, the server just extends the existing lease?

TurboFloat is designed to handle this. It doesn't matter that they're all cloned and all have the same IP address (IP addresses don't matter for our technology – they're ignored because they're useless).

Hello Wyatt,

Thank you for your answer.
We have always used “Per-user-session leases”. Is this a bad idea, I mean could it be that multiple users are working on a single server and taking advantage of this? (sorry not exactly a networking guru here).

Secondly, The log of TFS is a little cryptic. If as you say, you can differentiate the users that ask for lease and you don't care about IP address then why am I only seeing many of these.

2025-04-24, 4:49:45 <notification>: Extended existing lease (admin, 1, IP=::ffff:172.210.300.12). New expiration time: 2025-04-24 5:19:45 (in UTC).

So I can not see the difference in clients.
