Thank you Wyatt, that makes sense. Just to confirm : by the time we are using different product keys, it is possible to deploy a single license server with x tokens of product1 and y tokens of product2, right?
Hi team, we are in need of deploying 2 flavours of our software solution for a single customer, all relying on floating licensing.
Our product comes in 2 “tiers” (= set of features). Tier 1 is pretty basic, Tier 2 includes all Tier 1 features + more advanced ones. We have the ability to restrein the use to one or another Tier through licensing tokens.
There is a common PRODUCT
token for the software, then a few additional tokens for optional feature sets such as tier1
and tier2
.
Let's assume our customers is buying 5 tier1 licenses and 2 tier2 licences (more expensive). What is the solution/configuration in LimeLM to deploy our software:
- Totlal of max. 7 concurrent users of PRODUCT
- including 5 tier 1 (limited) concurrent instances and 2 tier2 (fully featured) instances.
Our UI will allow users to chose which flavour of the product they need at startup. Our need is to make sure the client won't have access to 7 concurrent licenses/instances of the Tier2 features.
Thanks for your guidance!
Hey Laurent,
The easiest thing to do is to have 2 separate product keys for the 2 TFS instances the customer will be running. Once instance for the “tier 1” pool of license leases and one TFS instance for the “tier 2” pool of license leases.
