How to fix? The WMI repository on the computer is broken.Answered

Users are not able to activate our software on Windows with TurboActivate 5.0.2.0. 

Tried all the solutions provided but nothing worked.

TurboActivate or TurboFloat is saying my customer has broken WMI (TA_E_BROKEN_WMI). What does that mean, and how do I fix it?

One of our customers followed the process but still it failed.

One of our customers followed the process but still it failed.

That log is showing one network adapter that is not showing a PermanentAddress (either broken adapter or broken driver) *and* the customer hasn't updated the driver (It's 4 years out of date).

The other network adapter driver is 10 years out of date. Yikes. That's a huge security risk.

So, they didn't update either adapter. That's literally the first step that's in their control. (Updating TA is in your control)

My guess is their copy of Windows isn't up-to-date either (if they're lying about updating the network adapters they likely are lying about updating the other parts of the computer).

So, you should guide them through the FAQ again. (Update OS, update drivers, do a full reboot, try your app again – still a WMI error? Move on to fixing that with the commands).

They can't skip important steps (like updating) and expect things to magically work. We do a ton of work to make broken network adapters behave. But there are limits to what we can do. hence, they should maintain their machines.

That first network adapter is almost 20 years old – and Intel has long since dropped support for it. So, there are likely other problems with that machine. But they should take the obvious steps of trying to get the machine into a workable / secure state (and that starts with updating).
