Yep, you're right, the next release will fix this. Sorry about that. We did a number of build-environment fixes and cleanups, and this is a regression.
In the meantime use the dynamic libraries.
Was working fine in previous version, now getting:
TurboActivate-MD.lib(TrialExtension.obj) : error LNK2038: mismatch detected for 'RuntimeLibrary': value 'MT_StaticRelease' doesn't match value 'MD_DynamicRelease' in …
It seems previously you liinked -MD.lib with dynamic runtime, but changed it to static this time

Any ETA on a fix?
We got the same errors with TurboActivate 5.0.2.0. When could you fix the issue?
Yes, the next release will fix this.
When will the next release be available?
Like others https://wyday.com/forum/t/32820/turboactivate-md-lib-static-library-for-windows-is-not-runtimelibrarymd_dynamicrelease-for-version-5-0-2-0/ , we don't want to switch to dynamic libraries. With your old version, many users got Error 28, and we have to upgrade.
ASAP. No hard date. When all the platforms are ready for the 5.0 release.
The dynamic libraries have always been the safer and smarter option.
& year with Wyday and now cant register!!!!!
Nobody can't help?????
I'm not in a virtual machine!!!!!!!!!!
Smart5ULT.VirtualMachineException: The function failed because this instance of your program if running inside a virtual machine / hypervisor and you've prevented the function from running inside a VM.
in Smart5ULT.TurboActivate.IsActivated()
in Smart5ULT.frmMain.frmMain_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
This thread is about something completely different. VM activations are covered extensively in the FAQ and on this forum. Use the search.

Also, fix your code to catch exceptions and show useful warnings to customers.
I reported to support same last fall and last week too, for others previous 5 version is fine but I don't think is available for download. /MT for applications, /MD for plugins is what we need. Too hard to deal with dynamic libs with network installs and a large portfolio of products.
“previous 5 version is fine”
No, for the previous 5 version, our users reported Error 28, Error 34 and also reported some crash issues.
Hopefully, it won't take years for the next TurboActivate release.
Use 5.0.2. It was released a couple of months ago. If you have problems follow the FAQ.
Don't post the same messages in multiple threads about completely different errors.
