Changes with 5.0.2.0 versionsAnswered

Hello,
We have noticed that new versions of TurboFloat and TurboActivate packages are available.
Would it be possible to know more about latest changes related to these upgrades?
Many thanks !

Answer

All of the changes will be announced when we wrap up the linux, bsd, and macOS builds.

It's almost entirely bug fixes and improvements. No breaking changes.

We don't follow “semantic” versioning conventions because they're a joke; an engineering solution to a marketing problem. Very silly.

So, upgrade as soon as you can. It'll only benefit you and your customers.

Thanks for the prompt answer our team will upgrade as soon as possible.

But we're starting to be a bit concerned on the future of LimeLM and Wyday.
You announced in May 2024 that changelog and builds (for linux, bsd and macos) will come in a couple of weeks.
Also you announced big stuff coming in August 2023, but no news since.
What can we expect from Wyday in the future ? Breaking changes ?
Are you the only one supporting this project or is there a whole team backing you ?

Many thanks for your transparency !

Yep we've got a team here.

There are bigger changes for BSD, macOS, and Linux which required more testing and development. We're not in a rush to deliver them because they are 100% improvements (smaller, faster, better) and there isn't any critical bug that we've fixed.

Whereas with the Windows releases we needed to work around network adapter bugs in recent Intel and Qualcomm drivers. Both of these companies have released a series of buggy drivers that we needed to work around, because while these companies have about half a trillion dollars between them, they've been producing garbage drivers recently.

What can we expect from Wyday in the future ? Breaking changes ?

Most of time and resources has been spent on these new features and products for existing customers.

We strive to avoid breaking changes when we can. They're never on the horizon (because if we can anticipate breaking changes, then we can avoid making them in the first place).

Basically we're doing what we've always done over the last 2 decades: worked slowly and steadily. Making stable and very good products at our own pace.

We're not a flashy company, but we're a reliable one.
