Acitvation Error - COM Error OccuredAnswered

Hi,

I've got a customer trying to activate our software on a computer, and facing the error message

TurboActivate
Activation Error
A COM error occurred. TurboActivate requires Windows XP or above. If you're using
Windows XP or newer then make sure the "Windows Management Instrumentation" Windows
Service is not disabled.

I've tried creating a new build with the latest 5.0.2.0 build of TurboActivate, and confirmed myself in Windows Services that the Windows Management Instrumentation service is enabled and running. I'm not sure what to do at this point. They are running Windows 11 and I've had them run all of the updates available.

Have them uninstall any VPNs or other fake security apps.

Next, provide more information (exact versions, etc.)

Also, have them run these 2 PowerShell commands and provide the full results: https://wyday.com/forum/t/32294/activation-error-enable-network-adapters/#post-53658

Hi Wyatt,

I did find that thread already and happened to try executing those commands. This was the result. I will get exact versions of Windows and network drivers as soon as possible.

Answer

Yeah, something is messed up with their computer. You can try to have them follow the Broken WMI faq: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/faq/#fix-broken-wmi

If that doesn’t fix it, then they’ll need to reinstall Windows.

The fact that those 2 PowerShell commands are failing means they (or something they installed) broke their installation.
