External predefined keysAnswered

Is it possible to work with external predefined keys? I mean: With the same criteria with which the keys are created with “make bulk keys” and exported, is it possible to import a large number of predefined keys and use them after each time an order has been concluded?

Answer

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.

Yes, you can bulk create product keys (either in the LimeLM interface or the web API). And yes you can “Export” these keys.

Yes, you can “import” licenses from other licensing systems.

No, you can't “import” licenses from LimeLM (i.e. you can't create, then delete keys, then try to import them to “restore” them). Once you delete them they're gone and can't be used.

Yes, you can modify any license in LimeLM at any time.

Does that answer your questions?

yes and no.
I know LimeLM allows you to automatically create a large number of keys and export them. This is ok.
I was trying to understand if LimeLM,once the transaction is successfully concluded,  instead of generating a key for that purchased license, takes one key at a time from a list of predefined keys that I had previously imported into LimeLM (text file/csv): I know that some license management software allows this

No, LimeLM / TruboActivate use algorithmically generated and verified keys. External keys can be imported, but they're for meta-data purposes only (LimeLM doesn't try to interpret the data or use it for any verification).

ok,many thanks
