The way to do "per-session licensing" or "named licensing" is to use TurboFloat Library and TurboFloat Server. They handle that type of licensing. TurboActivate only does per-machine licensing (a.k.a. node-locked licensing.)
Hello all,
currently we support named licenses per user for one or more users. Our software is an addin in Excel (VSTO) and is usually not often used (it's for analyzing spreadsheets). That is the reason that we don't use concurrent licensing. On the other hand it's activated when a user starts excel (so not when a user activates our app.
Is there a way to use named licensing in a citrix environment where excel is installed in the citrix environment?
thanks in advance,
regards
Arie

Hello Wyatt,
tnx for the quick response. I did some testing on the floating licenses, but can't see a way to make the named licenses? So e.g. only 4 specific users are allowed to use the application (while the company bought 2 concurrent licenses), while the application is installed for all users in the company.
tnx in advance,
regards
Arie
That's a good point -- we'll see if we can sneak this change in (the ability for named licenses) before the TurboFloat Server 4.0 release. If not, then we'll make a point-release after 4.0 release to add this ability.
That's a very good suggestion.
Thanks for this Wyatt!! When do you expect release 4.0 to be issued?

Arie
We still have about 3 weeks work.
Hello Wyat,
We were just wondering 😀 if there is any news on the new release 4.0?tnx in advance,
regards
Arie
We're working to get it out ASAP. Trust me, we want to get this out as much as our customers want it.
Hello Wyat,
I understand fully of course, that always the problem as software developer, we have the same thing 🙂Could you give me an estimate, than I can communicate this to our customers
tnx very much
regards
Arie
The current estimate is early March. We don't have a hard date. And that date might be pushed back because we have 1 more server-side infrastructure change that has to be pushed out in a way that has 0 downtime (or near-zero downtime).

All that is left is updating the documentation and to finish the code samples for the multiple languages. So, ASAP.
