Upload to network share & bugSolved

Hi, you mentioned in a previous post that you will be adding the ability to upload to a network share, do you know when you will be adding this? Most of the software we write for clients tend to live on a server and updated from there, currently I'm having to vpn in and manual copy the files over, this would be a very hand option to have

Also I think I've found a bug in the upload your updates, before I found out you couldnt upload to a network server I added a network path as an upload site. I saved everything and then wasnt able to reload the project as it said it had an invaild port. Also before the above when I tried to edit the newly added site it throw and unhandled exception

Hey Steve,

do you know when you will be adding this?

First we'll be adding uploading to FTPS (aka SSH FTP) and then we'll be adding the ability to uploading to network shares.

Also I think I've found a bug in the upload your updates, before I found out you couldnt upload to a network server I added a network path as an upload site. I saved everything and then wasnt able to reload the project as it said it had an invaild port. Also before the above when I tried to edit the newly added site it throw and unhandled exception

Can you tell me how you added the site? (What text you entered where?). Also, what type of VPN server are you connecting to?

I added the same information as what was in the download site, something like file://address/folder/folder it let me add it but not edit it and them wouldnt reload the site

As for vpn I'm using Sonic Wall VPN Client to connect to a clients Sonic Wall router, we didnt really want to have to set up an ftp just to upload the updates so I'm copying them manually. I use the upload feature for my own product and this is a much better option. hopefully it wont be too long before you add this 😉

Whats the status on adding the ability to UPLOAD to a fileshare? I'm evaluating but not sure I like the idea of pushing around files manually.

Thanks

Hey Keith,

This is coming with wyBuild 2.6.18 -- which is coming very soon.

Whats the ETA for this release. Being able to upload to a fileshare is critical for me.thanksKeith

It's coming with wyBuild 2.6.18. ETA is soonish. We're finish a couple of features, and tracking down a few bugs.

In the meantime all you have to do is do a copy command to copy the latest *.wyu and *.wys files from the "Updates" folder to whatever file share. You can write a simple batch file to do this.

Batch file to copy files from one folder to another folder.

wyBuild 2.6.18 will just be an extension of that. That is, it will be 1-click, instead of forcing you to write a batch file.

wyBuild 2.6.18 is now out -- you can upload to network shares.
