Web API IP Address LimitAnswered

I apologize in advance for what is more than likely a stupid question.  If I reset the IP addresses in my settings am I right in assuming that all that will happen is that ‘n’ new addresses will be allowed … even one or more of the previous addresses?  Sort of clearing the cached addresses.  One of my three used addresses is no longer valid.
