Activation Question

I have a user that activated their program on their laptop. They use this laptop in their office hooked up to the office network and in the field using a hot spot. When they use it in the field then go back to the office the program is asking them to reactivate their product key. This is happening almost daily. What is the solution to resolve this issue?

Hey Wes,

First of all, are you using the latest version of TurboActivate (as of now, 3.4.6)? If not, that's the first step.

Next (after you've made sure you're using the latest version of TurboActivate and they're using the latest version of your app) make sure they're not "disabling" the network device. Just connect to the network using whichever device they want (wireless / wired), but don't disable the other device (that makes the device "invisible" to TurboActivate for fingerprints).

(make sure they're not "disabling" the network device) I am not understanding this enough to explain to user. Sorry but this is a little confusing for me and I need to understand before I go and try to explain.

In the "Network and Sharing Center" (on Windows 7 / 8.x) there's a "Change adapter settings" link on the right hand side of that control panel. Click that. Now you'll see a list of network adapters. You can right click them to disable / enable them. Make sure none of the devices that are actually being used (ever) are being disabled -- even if they're only disabling them temporarily.

Also, note, they might be disabling the network devices without even knowing it, if they're using a "helper application". You can see whether the device is disabled or not by opening up that control panel.

Also, are you using the latest version of TurboActivate? That's important. We fix bugs all the time. There's no use in going through this troubleshooting until you've updated TurboActivate first.
