I don't know about this. We'll think about it.
Most VM software has the ability to automatically sync with the "host" system. So, that should definitely be checked. And, of course, the host system should have the correct timezone, time, and date.
Hi guys,
We had a lot of problems registering our application running from a Mac inside Parallel (a Windows application) because the time sync in the VM was always off one hour. A lot of time for us, and them.
Do you think it could be possible to be more easy on the time sync required? I mean, on our side, more or less than 24 hours is good enough to give a lease. We would have been more than happy to only "fix" the sensitivity to 1 hours 5 minutes for this customer.
But I don't know all the impacts of such a suggestion... yet, I simply pass the information and problems we had.
By the way, it would be nice to know what are the parameters on the server in the error message, like "The actual date and time on the server are: 2014-08-06 14h07 UTC-0500 (daylight saving)." So at least we could quickly compare on the user station. (Oh! This is 14h07 UTC-0600 here!)
Thank you and best regards,Alexandre Leclerc

Hi Wyatt,
Yeah, this is what I wanted, but this specific system was big problems. The host system was ok, but Parallel was making a mess, I don't know how. We had to disable the sync, disable the NTP sync in Windows guest, and I can't remember what... Oh! Yeah! We had to install the "Parallel drivers for Windows virtual CD". That's it! And then it started to work properly. But I can't remember the exact settings.
Of course, this is a setup issue (and our first experience on Mac/Parallel). But it was so time consuming that we thought that if an option to go easy with time sync was available it would have been easier... even if not the best solution.
Any-way, thank you for your time on this, even though this is not an actual problem on your side, but was on the user's side.
Best regards,Alexandre Leclerc
