Verfified Trial

With a verified trial and product key that is checking the server for the date to see if the the trial has expired....is it possible to simply change the date backwards on the customer computer so that it is less than the date on LimeLM? I'm sure there is data tampering protection. I just want to be sure since I'm implementing a verified trial.Thanks in advance.
