Lime LM activation & trial period problemSolved

Hello-

I am testing LimeLM activation but have run into a problem.

I have activated our software on our testbed PC with one serial number, and then revoked that serial number. Next, I set the trial period on a different serial number to, say, one day. Two days later, Lime LM doesn't seem to recognize that the second serial number's trial period has expired, and I'm not sure why.

I can post the relevant code (C#) if you like.

Thanks,

OK, more clarification.

I think it's *mostly* working. I see now that I shouldn't ever have input a serial number in order for the trial to be working.

However, I have revoked all the product keys I created, and then deactivated the license on my computer. I set all the trial lengths to '30' in my LimeLM account.

Now, when I click 'Activate', it says the user must activate within *9* days?

I'm confused 😳

Ummm....nvm.

I moved to another devel box and it appear that a 30 day trial is working OK. So maybe that 9 days was the remainder of another trial.

Apologies for the noise... 😳

That's alright. I should make a few notes though. Firstly, the trials are unrelated to the serial number. They are per-machine and per-version. In fact the user need not even enter a serial number to be using the trial.

As far as extending and resetting trials goes, we plan on adding that a little later this month.

Hmmm....when I came in today the trial on that box still says there are 9 days left. Is there a way I can reset/delete the trial on this pc so I can continue further testing?

Or is that what you mean by:

>As far as extending a resetting trials goes, we plan on adding that a little later this month

?

P.S. Could you put a link on the LimeLM pages to this forum? I often find myself in LimeLM and need to look up something in the forum for reference. Thanks.

Sorry, that sentence was a bit hard to parse (the typos didn't help). What I mean is this: we are adding the ability to extend & reset trials. You'll be able to generate a code within the LimeLM interface and then deliver this code to your users. With the code they can reset / extend their trial.

Plus you could use it to reset/extend trials on your test machine.

Tell me if this helps.

We have such a link on the bottom of the Help page. We also have a site redesign coming in about 2 months that will ease some of these usability problems.
