Will we use up licences if we wipe and rebuild a machine?Answered

We are automating the creation of our build agents for which we need to install wyBuild. We will install wyBuild on the build servers using silent installation via the command line. We only intend to use each license key once per build agent.
But will we “burn” through valid license keys each time the automation recreates an agent? Can we reinstall the same license key repeatedly on the machine?

You'll need a license for every developer and a license for every “build machine” that uses wyBuild.

Yes, I understand every developer and build machine needs a license. But my question is about how the licensing mechanism works in this scenario: Our new “build machine” where we need to install wyBuild will be created using “Infrastructure as Code” practices, i.e. it will be a virtual machine created in AWS with automated script and configuration files to allow us to recreate the machine quickly and easily if needed.

What happens with wyBuild licenses if a machine is wiped and then rebuilt so that wyBuild and its license has to be reinstalled? Can we reapply the same license repeatedly when we reinstall everything or is the license gone if a machine is wiped?

For example, especially while setting up a new build machine we are likely to be constantly rebuilding the machine, including reinstalling wyBuild repeatedly, until we are happy we have all components configured correctly. License wise, will we have any issues doing that?

Yes, you can re-apply on the same machine.
