TurboFloat planned features

I presume that you guys are almost finished with TurboFloat and that it will be out in a short bit.

My question was concerning the features for TurboFloat- 1) Will TurboFloat be set up so that it is installed as a server on the clients network, allowing computers connected to the network to make use of the licenses? Or will the floating licenses require internet connection to the wyDay servers in order to function?

2) Will TurboFloat have the additional feature of people being able to check-out a license for offline use? That is, if the user wants to go on a business trip and still be able to use the software?

Hey Daniel,

I presume that you guys are almost finished with TurboFloat and that it will be out in a short bit.

We're working hard to get it out soon.

1) Will TurboFloat be set up so that it is installed as a server on the clients network, allowing computers connected to the network to make use of the licenses?

Yes. That's how it's designed. Your customers will install TurboFloatServer somewhere on their network. The installation is easy, and you can wrap it up in your own installer if you want.

2) Will TurboFloat have the additional feature of people being able to check-out a license for offline use? That is, if the user wants to go on a business trip and still be able to use the software?

No, that's TurboActivate's job. TurboFloat needs a consistent connection with the TurboFloatServer hosted anywhere on the LAN or Internet at large.

So what's the solution? Mix TurboActivate and TurboFloat. That is, the customers that need to be disconnected from the internet can get a product key and activate your product using TurboActivate. They'll be able to use your product on a desert island.

For all the other end-users with an active connection (for example, everyone in the building) can use TurboFloat.

Sounds good- thanks for the quick response.

TurboFloat is now out. A good place to start is here: "Using TurboFloat"
