I have a console app that is using the AutomaticUpdate control.
I can see all the events being fired off, new version downloads and installs, and then restarts.
For some reason the new version when downloaded ends up in C:\Program Files (x86)\CompName\AppName\V1.x
When the app next runs it seems to still running the old version.
What have I done wrong?

What I did wrong was to click the Add Folder when specifying where the files for the new version were.
I "assumed" it would add all the files in the folder, but it doesn't it just created the folder underneath the exe path.
Now I feel comfortable in buying a licence.
