Network Adapter issues festival this week - WindowsAnswered

Anyone noticed something special with Windows users this last week (perhaps rooted in some background WIndows updater?) - suddenly we have a bunch of TA  ENABLE NETWORK ADAPTER returned as error messages support case - might be a service underneath somewhere - it's not the usual once in a while dead, disabled, driver needs updating type issue.  They tend to be fresh install…  scrubbing the keys off and reinstalling makes no difference even…

Answer

It's almost always the case of wrong driver, broken driver (or both). Sometimes in combination with not updating the version of Windows (use 10 or 11 – preferably 11, and apply all updates, even optional ones).

Also, use the latest TA. We don't provide any support for old TA (not worth the trouble – we fix bugs).

Long story short: the FAQ covers all of this: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/faq/#disabled-adapters

1. update adapters.

2. update windows.

3. update TA.

4. run your app or TA Wizard as admin.

Do all those steps. None of the steps are optional.

Still broken? We have a FAQ for it: https://wyday.com/limelm/help/faq/#fix-broken-wmi

Pierre,

We have seen an uptick as well on Windows 11 systems.  I think Microsoft may have started to have Virtualized Based Security enabled by default on a new Windows update.  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/device-experiences/oem-vbs

The end-user might try disabling to see if that helps.
