Turbofloat, server/client same subnetAnswered

Hello,

We use turbofloat and a customer asks the following:

"We currently have one floating license for your application. But we are having some issues with accessing the license server.

We just keep getting the message "Connection to the server failed".

We have a license server running on the network, and the application has been added as a trusted app  in Windows defender.

But we have one question. Does the server need to be on the same subnet as the client, or can it be on a different subnet? Could this be the issue?
"

So, does the server need to be on the same subnet as the client, or can it be on a different subnet?

Thanks!

Answer

It can be anywhere on the internet or intranet. So long as the client has access to the server.

Use the latest versions of both the TFS and TF, then try again. If issues persist, use wireshark (or one of a dozen other open source tools) to debug their network infrastructure.
