Version specific updates not Running

Perhaps, I'm misunderstanding the intended functionality, but I have specific installers and/or scripts that only exists within certain version tabs (Let's throw out 1.0.0.5) and doesn't exist in the current version of 1.0.0.10. If a customer downloads and applies updates (Say 1.0.0.4) should those version specific files execute? I made sure that the option execute them was enabled (Before update). However, when I move them to the latest version tab they are executed. I used the same setup for both versions.

Thank you for your time,

Jim

Hey Jim,

Right now, only files in the target version are executed. So if the user is updating to 1.0.0.10 then only files marked to execute in that version will actually execute.

We're adding incremental patches to wyBuild 2.7 -- meaning you'll have the option of building the updates like you expected (as an alternative to the current "direct patch" behavior).

Thank you and I look forward to trying that out.

The killer was having to drop and drag the same information over and over again when it only needs to exist within a certain version. Also, execute when making the jump past the version which had the incremental change. As you can image, this could build up over time.

I appreciate the fact that your team is receptive to change like this. I suspect that there are so many flavors of requests/needs you have to filter.

Jim
