Is TurboActivate API accepted in Mac App Store?Answered

Hi,

I'm planning to port a desktop app to the Mac App Store. Can anyone let me know whether the TA API is accepted or not? Would hate to do the whole work of sandboxing the app to then have it rejected by Apple because of a non-compliant API.

Thanks.

No idea. We don’t do anything crazy. But I also don’t think our customers are eager to give 30% of their revenue to Apple if they don’t have to.

So maybe.

Yeah I know. On the other hand it's a huge market platform. And I think it's (only) 15% commission now.

If any client has ported an app with TA to the App Store, please let me know.

I can tell you that we never use “hidden” APIs, or even deprecated API, nor do we do any crazy behavior. Everything is straight forward.

Sure, I trust you on that. But since App Store apps need to be sandboxed, I wonder if Apple will allow your API to do its thing.

If no one confirms they have a TA protected software uploaded on App Store, I'll make a dummy app to try.
