Automatic updater does not detect new update

I've released a new update for my application. But when checking for updates using the automatic updater, it says I already have the latest version and does not download the new update.

I tried using wyBuild and re-uploading the update files to the ftp and that didn't resolve the issue. What can cause this to happen?

Phil

Wyatt,

The instructions are not clear to me. After I do the "Build WyUpdate", do I then add the newly generatedclient.wyc file into files and folders section so that when I click on "Build Updates" the client.wyc file will be included in the update and uploaded to the ftp destination?

Thanks,

Phil

Before you click "Build wyUpdate" make sure the verison number in the drop down (just above that button) shows the version number of your product that you'll be including the client.wyc with.

That is, make sure the client.wyc version matches your app's version.

Does that make sense?

Wyatt,

It does match. It has the latest version which is 2.9.8. But when I do the check update from the software after I ftp the update files it's still saying I already have the latest version. The strange thing is if I uninstall our software and then re-install it and then let the update happen, it does update to the latest version with the changes that I expect to see.

Is there a way to force an update even though it thinks you have the latest version?

Phil

If you double click the client.wyc file you'll see what version number is embedded in the file. My guess is either you included the wrong client.wyc with your app or your re-used a client.wyc file after testing the updates.

No, there's no need for that. Just include the right client.wyc file.
