Virtual Machines

Could someone re-install a VM on the same PC to obtain a further trial of my product? Could someone keep doing ths over and over again?

We're closing this fraud loophole very shortly with TurboActivate 3.3. But for now, yes.

Thanks - would appreciate notification of when this is available as we will wait for it before deploying.

For our support purposes only, are their anyother conditions (without revealing your confidential info) that a user could utilise reset a trial?

The trial functionality built into TurboActivate is what you call "unverified trials". That is, a user can download your app and begin using it as a trial without TurboActivate contacting the LimeLM servers. Why? Because everything is stored lcoally.

This means that someone that wants to go through the trouble of "resetting" the trial, can.

What's the solution? Have verified trials. That is, provide a product key to the user, have them activate, and have the end date hardcoded as a feature value. Then when the end-date comes they're no longer able to use the software.

I would recommend you continue using unverified trials, even though they are more prone to fraud. The reason I recommend that is because it's less of a hassle for prospective customers who are just "testing the waters" so to speak.
