Mandatory update

It is possible to make the updates mandatory, so the user it always updates the application (silently or asking him, no matter) when starting it. We have a strong business policy that the users must run the last version of the apps.

Yes, you can force a user to update. Simply prevent the user from continuing with your app before the update.

Does that make sense?

If you give me more details I'll be able to give you a more specific answer.

Thanks Sam! It's clear

How is that possible if this was not implemented before a mandatory update? Up to now, we did not release any mandatory updates, but the next one is mandatory.

Is there a way to make an update mandatory?

You need to explain *why* you need the update to be mandatory before I can point you in the right direction (there are different ways to do it based on your requirements).

We have a scenario where we distinguish between: * Optional updates (the user can choose to update, or not to update) * Mandatory updates (no go, before he upgrades to the new version)

As stated the mandatory is the easy part. But is wyBuild capable to handle / distinguish between optional updates and mandatory updates?

Define mandatory (or what it means in your specific case). Do you have a client/server type situations where the client has to be a certain version to connect to the server?
