The "common desktop" is the desktop shared by all users on the computer. This is different than the "current user's desktop" (which doesn't require admin privileges to write to). In wyBuild 2.6.18 we're adding the ability to write to the current user's desktop.
Desktop shortcut and UAC prompt issue
delchoHi all,I have a problem with installing/updating my application when I want a desktop shortcut to be created. I use wyBuild to add the application files to the "Your program's folder", then right click on the main executable file and choose "Create shortcut" and then move the shortcut file in the "Common Desktop" folder. If i try to run wyUpdate with non-administrator account (the directory from which I start wyUpdate is inside %userprofile%) it requires admin account (UAC shows up). If I remove the shortcut from the "Common Desktop" in wyBuild then the install/update work without any problem. I tried to start the wyUpdate.exe from the Desktop and I have removed the file from "Common Desktop" and it works fine (so the account has rights to write to the Desktop).
How can I make a desktop shortcut with a limited account?
