530 error wyupdate

Hello,I have downloaded the wybuild software and intend to purchase if I can get it running with my VB6 app (Windows 7).I installed it ok and was able to build wybuild and updates and upload files to my FTP.The problem is when I run wyupdate.exe. I get the following error:

"Error trying to save file: Error downloading "ftp://MyFTP.com/Updates/wyserver.wys": The remote server returned an error: (530) Not logged in."

Any idea of how I can get this working?Thank you!Marci

Hey Marci,

You need to use a username and password in your ftp download site within wyBuild. Like this:

ftp://username:password@yoursite.com/updates/%file%

Thanks for your quick response Wyatt. I had tried that (and just re-tried) but still same error.Could there be any firewall issues with win7?

No, make sure you're using the correct username and password and make sure you have access to the FTP.

The 530 error means you don't have permission to download the file from your FTP site. Copy and paste the exact site into your browser and you'll see the same error.

I might be making progress....looks like my files might have been in the wrong directory....now I'm getting an error 550 (file not found) which is more promising 🙂I'll fiddle with it some more and hopefully get it working.Thanks!Marci
