I don't know what happened... but now the connection is ok..
The question about the certificate - i am referring to signing the updates.
The problem is that we've lost the original certificate with which previous updates were signed and i've found about this today when we needed to release a new update.
I had to reinstall wyUpdate - with the latest version.
Had to create a new file from scratch - added everything necessary for the update and a new signature certificate was generated (by the new wyupdate installation).
I built the updates, uploaded the server installation files and tried to upgrade one of the now obsolete applications (which were build several months ago with a previous wyUpdate version and most probably a different certificate).
The upgrade process detects the new version, starts and downloads the files from the server - but once the download has completed - the last dialog is shown - without an error - only a button Finish and a button See Details (or Changes if i recall) - if you click it - nothing happens - it just disappears.
No updates have been done to the application.
I am guessing this is caused by the different certificate and an error condition which is not displayed to the user.
You can observe this for testing purposes by:
1. Downloading and installing the previous version of the application: http://download.stampii.com/windows/Stampii.exe
2. Try to update (there are updates on the server now with the new installation / certificate)
So basically.. i am trying to find a way to not make a few thousand users angry that they can't update from the app itself - but from the website by reinstalling it 🙁
