Download Sites

Hi,

I have two things.

1) Every so often when I build a new update, the Download Sites values are missing. If I restart wyBuild they are maybe there and other times they are not. However wyBuild seems to be using my previous values as the clients can still find the updates on my server.

At one instance, the original site entry was missing. I added a second entry. Next time I started wyBuild, I was shown both entries (which his correct as I intended there to be two download sites).

I'm using wyBuild 2.6.13.0.

2) Are newly added download sites propagated to existing installs via an update? Such as until version .5 we only had one download site. Starting with .6 we added an additional site. We soon will be retiring the original site and I was wondering if all clients that are at least at version .6, will the client.wyc file have been updated via an update with the new download site?

We've heard of this from a couple of customers. We've never been able to reproduce this. It would help us immeasurably if you could give us a step-by-step way to reproduce this. Here's what we suspect the bug might involve (although we might be wrong):

  • Having multiple projects open
  • Having one "panel" open or another (e.g. Download Sites panels or Build Panel) OR switching between Panels and projects.
will the client.wyc file have been updated via an update with the new download site?

No, you have to rebuild wyUpdate and include the client.wyc with the new download sites inside your update.
