SeSecurityPrivilege

Hello,

I m using the latest trial version of wybuild and it seens a great product.Im getting some issues. I followed all the steps to configure a testapp. Everything seemed to work fine, but in the end I got the message : The process doesnt has the 'SeSecurityPrivilege' ...I m using an administrator acc and a IIS as the update server. It may be a simple mistake in any step, but I already spent some time and thought you could have some ideas to help me.

Sorry about my bad english. Im trying to make it work and latter implement it here to end our software update issues.

What version of wyUpdate are you using? Right click wyUpdate.exe, click properties, and then click the Details tab.

Its the 2.6.8.0

What version of Windows are you running? Also, can you send me a copy of your wyBuild project file (.wyp) ? Send it to support@wyday.com

Im testing it on a Windows 2003 Service Pack 2 and also trying to get the updates on a Windows XP ProfessionalService Pack 3

Gonna send the file in a minute

One more thing. I didnt use any ftp client. Just manually put the update files into our server.

That's fine. That won't effect things one way or the other.

I've looked at the project, and there's nothing that could cause this error. Can I ask where on your machine you're testing these updates? That is, what folder are you in?

I created a folder in my desktop with the old version (1.0) of my test project and the wyupdate + client files(1.0).

I can't reproduce this on my test XP machine. If you're running as an admin this problem should never happen. Try testing in another folder. Try "C:\YourApp" -- tell me if that works.

I even tried a new project, but the problem and the error message remains the same:The process does not possess the 'SeSecurityPrivilege' privilege which is required for this operation.

I m using an admin account and the thing that intrigues me the most is the kind of error. I will ask for some help to our system admin, I think it may be an issue with our server.Anyway, thanks for your help. If I get what's wrong I will post it here.

If your admin account is limited using the group policy editor then this error will occur. In particular, make sure your admin account supports getting and setting ACL settings for both folders and files. I'm almost 100% sure this is where the error is occurring.
