search activations

I want to search the activation data. By default, this is the IP address from where the license is being activated. I would like to be able to search this information using the web API. For example, has any licenses been activated from <this> address? I clearly see Limelm.pkey.AdvancedSearch which allows you to have this data upon a search, but is it possible to search for only this information like you would any of the custom fields?

Not yet. In the very near future we'll make better use of the IP address information to show where customers are activated from directly in the LimeLM interface.

Is there any other reason you want to search by this information?

We actually set this information to be the serial number and MAC address of a PC that is using the license. When we have single license key with many activations, IP address alone is worthless. In the case where we have single license single activation but the customer buys numerous licenses, we have to one by one in LimeLM look for the system tied to the serial number to be able to manually deactivate a license. Ideally, we would never have to do this but if a PC is dead that is our only option to deactivate a license.

Oh, OK, so you're looking for the same machine across all of your products. The good new is that this is coming soon. We're releasing a new LimeLM interface that, among other things, will link "devices" across product keys and verified trials. The primary purpose of this is to give customers insight into conversions of their products. But it will have the added benefit for your use-case.

That is great to hear.

By chance you have a rough estimate on when this ability will be added to the web API? I hope to be able to search this information from external apps we are building. Depending on when this feature is available would influence how implement TurboActivate in a few upcoming applications.

We don't have a hard date, but early 2017 the LimeLM interface version will be completed first, followed shortly thereafter by the web API.

Hello, I have been searching around in the LimeLM interface, but have not able to find how to “track conversions”. How precisely do you find that a verified trial is linked to a product key, and, by extension, is there also a way to find how many of your verified trials have been converted into a product key (i.e. can you filter trials by whether they “converted” or not)?

Thank you in advance!
