Encrypting updates using a password

Hi,

I have encrypted the patch by using "Encrypting updates using a password".I tried both option i.e.1) by having password in client.wyc file as well as providing at runtime.

In both the cases it is giving me same error "Entry patches/0 uses an unsupported compression method(0x63).

Its a bug in software or i am missing something.

Hi Sachin,

Could you have updated the *.wyu files on your servers without also updating the *.wys files? Are you using the built-in wyBuild uploading mechanism (you should) to ensure all the correct files are being uploaded? Otherwise perhaps something is being corrupted.

You might also benefit from doing the usual latest OS/system updates, run a virus scan, etc.

Additional question regarding Encrypted updates.

What if i want to start encrypting updates from, say, 1.6 version (1.0-1.5 were not encrypted)?If I just upload encrypted updates, my app (using AutomaticUpdater) woun't even be able to update itself, right?
