wyBuild corruptet project file

Hi!

My project file was corrupted during a save and crash - "Premature end of file".

Is there anyway to restore it?

What does the .wyp_edit file do? Is it possible the retrieve the original thorugh that?

How could I proceed making updates for current clients with a corrupt project file?

Will using the same continious version and uploading it to same place enable those clients to update?

Is it possible to make a project and create same versions (the latest) and continue forward?

I realize wyp_edit was just an old backup file, leaves me to the conslusion not much can be made? I think the file i slightly smaller then it should.

If a were to restore a old version of this file, lets say 4 versions ago, how would the content on the FTP react? Would wyserver.wyz accept backing back to older version and then uploading new versions of the old one?

Presumably you still have the old versions of your app. Re-add them to your backed-up wyBuild project file, rebuild your update, re-upload them to your servers.

Yes we have to version folder with all relevant versions of the the app.

But does my app require the same product name to be recognized but the client update (we are using ftp)? I guess so.

But that is the only thing that needs to be identical right? Does the client updater recognize server versions by simply checking product name and version? Or does it require the same company name (identical) aswell?

Thanks for quick support! Has been working great besides this.

It only looks at the version number embedded in the client.wyc and the version number in the *.wys file on the servers. Then, from there, it downloads the appropriate update files if an update is required.

Thank you, that is all the information we needed!

We are getting this error in the updater:

The update is not signed. All updates must be signed in order to be installed.

We have created a new version. It gets detected by the automatic updater but then it wants it to be signed. Not sure in what manner. client.wyc?

No, this is about the update signing key: Signing Updates in wyBuild. You actually need that to build updates that the customer can install.

You find an old backup of the wyBuild project file and use the key from that in your new project file.
