p.s. It may be relevant that the version of VMware Fusion I'm using (4.1.3) doesn't officially support Windows 8 or OS X 10.8, I think. Could that be the issue? I'm not sure why this would affect TurboActivate, but maybe you can explain.
Hi guys, I've been doing some testing of my software (which uses TurboActivate) in VMWare Fusion virtual machines. I have one virtual machine which runs Windows 8, and another which runs OS X 10.8. In both of these, after I restore the virtual machine (so that my software has never been installed before and TurboActivate has never been run before), and then I install a new copy of my software, I have a 30-day trial period, which is what I want. However, if I reboot the virtual machine after installing, and run my software again, the trial period immediately gets canceled and activation is required.
I am guessing that this is due solely to the virtual machine, but I just want to be sure. Is there anything about rebooting a virtual machine that would cause the trial period to be invalidated? Or perhaps, is it specific to Windows 8 or OS X 10.8? I've noticed that I don't seem to encounter this issue with Windows 7 or OS X 10.7 running in virtual machines.
Please let me know if you need any other info.
Eric

This sounds like a bug in the VMware fusion software in not correctly setting values on the shutdown of the hosted OS. Try upgrading to Fusion 5.x.
Also make sure you're using the latest TurboActivate.
Alright, thanks. The latest version of TurboActivate is 3.2.2, right? That's what I'm using.
Yeah, TA 3.2.2 is the current version (as of today).
