Here is https://wyday.com/forum/t/2019/autoupdate-process-hangs/#post-10989 a bug fix in your code.
But thinking about it this evening, I'm wondering if including a client.wyc in the update is possibly not required. (I'll do some more forum reading...and perhaps someone with more understanding could clarify) Cheers!
🤔 Update: Clearing the cache files, and running wyUpdate directly from the program folder as outlined here https://wyday.com/forum/t/163/checking-for-updates-doesnt-always-find-the-update/#post-884 does not fix the problem.
I was following the advice here: https://wyday.com/forum/t/519/multiple-plugin-update-quandry-with-new-au-dll/#post-2632 A 3rd option is to just rename the AutomaticUpdater.dll for each of your plugins.
If I clear the cache as described in other forum articles I get this message. If I don't I get a flashing update window (cool strobe effects) and it tells me "Failed to connect to the new version of wyUpdate.exe".

This has been covered many times on this forum: Install update without administrator privileges

Both myself and my developer would like to get this sorted asap rather than waiting for hours on the forum. Nick

Yes, this is by design (and mentioned every few months in the forum). Perhaps we should create a help article explaining this.
I saw this posting https://wyday.com/forum/t/2158/manual-activation-error/ and followed as instructed-tried replacing all forward slash with a \/-used https://www.freeformatter.com/json-escape.html but ended up with error 124 "Activation request XML is missing or invalid."
I don't see a password reset option on the forum login?
