WyBuildend of life? (No)

Postby RedGater » February 21st, 2012, 10:20 pm

Hi guys,

I see you still provide forum support which is welcome, but do not fix the bugs reported by making new releases.

If you are not planning on releasing a new version, please open-source wyBuild too, so the community can fix it up.

Thanks

wyBuild 2.6.15 is coming soon. Despite the incremental change in version numbers this is a huge improvement over 2.6.14.

Any clarification on when "soon" is?

We have 1 remaining showstopper bug. We're trying to get it cleaned up today.

It tooks SO much to resolve most of the bugs, but... it's about 9 months old the last release of WyBuild, and every week comes out some new bugs... If you think to resolve every time each bug... new WyBuild won't never be released.

So... it's better to have smaller bugfix releases but in few time than a bigger bugfix release every 9-10 months.....

Just my 2 cents.

We've been working on 3 branches simultaneously (2.6.x 2.7, 2.8). This is different then what we've been doing before (hence the longer release schedule).

That being said, we're jumping back to the bite-size monthly releases after 2.6.15.

Hi sorry to chip in here but you guys have been promising an update for months now, only a week or so ago Sam said it was due in 2 days, that like every other date has been and gone!

I really like WyBuild but with 9 months since the last release and continued failed promises of bug fixes and new features I'm begining to wonder if I'm better to write wybuild off and find an alternative. I have commercial products of my own and would lose my customers if I made them wait 9 months for bug fixes

Cant you guys work on 1 release at a time rather then juggling 3 versions which are unlikey to see the light of day anytime soon

wyBuild 2.6.16 is now out. New releases will be on the bite-size monthly or bi-monthly schedule.

Thanks.

We'll be trying it out and seeing what's fixed during the 9 month wait.

+1 for releasing fixes regularly from now on.

That's really awesome that you've committed to releasing timely updates going forward.

Do you have an RSS feed or other automated notification for new releases?
